The United States Karate Alliance Junior and Adult National Team competed at the Professional Karate Commission’s International Karate Championships over Labor Day weekend. Several other Alliance members also competed. Once again, our National Team Members and Alliance members showed great sportsmanship and great technique. Our Junior National Team won the team fighting. Unfortunately, our Adult Black Belt Team was not able to repeat its win from last year in the team fighting because two of our members, Scott Shook and Josh Quayhagen, were unable to attend due to previous commitments. The results are as follows:

Dr. Rebecca Effler – Black Belt Women – Black Belt Women’s Sparring Grand Champion, 1 stplace sparring, 2 nd place kata, 2 nd place weapons.
Sandra Jovanovic – Black Belt Women – 1 st place weapons, 1 st place kata. Ms. Jovanovic is a regular competitor at PKC and was also inducted into the PKC Elite.
